High Protein Shake Mix

There's the limit to the number of times you can drink the same protein mix. After a while, you end up bored with the taste of protein mix itself, no matter what flavor it comes in.

Why not stop depending on the pre-packaged flavor the store gives you, and enjoy the goodness of fresh foods with your protein snack instead?

Here are some ways you can sneak high-protein shake mix into your snacks and meals and leave them as tasty as ever -

1. Sandwiches. Add some protein mix to your peanut butter and fruit preserve sandwich, made with whole wheat or multigrain bread to maximize the nutrients you get from your carbs. Fruit preserve is also quite easy to make at home - all you need is a food processor and a bit of patience.

2. Smoothie. If you are totally avoiding bread, make a yoghurt-fruit smoothie and add protein mix to give it that extra boost. Alternatively, you can strain the yoghurt and use the whey in a protein shake, and have the strained yoghurt with fruit slices for dessert.

3. Add it to oatmeal. Once you finish cooking your oatmeal and take it off the flame, add a scoop of protein mix to it. You can cook your oatmeal in skim milk, or you can cook it in water and add yoghurt to it. Topping this mix with some berries, sliced bananas and honey just makes it that much better!

Though your protein powder probably says "high-protein SHAKE mix" on the box, you don't have to stick to making shakes with it. There are a lot of recipes that can use protein mixes without becoming high-protein shake mix recipes - trawl the web, ask your fellow dieters, rack your brains, make a few bloopers before getting it just right, and find out!
